The Anniversary by Bill MacIlwraith
The Anniversary by Bill MacIlwraith directed by Jennifer Blocksidge starred Babette Stephens in her final role for La Boite.
In her program notes, the director wrote that “The Anniversary is a rare combination of the comedy and wit of words and the horror and pathos of man’s (or should I say woman’s!) ability to destroy. It has taken me five years to persuade Babette Stephens that the part was written especially for her!” Of Stephens’ impact, Blocksidge reported that "her presence on stage ensured us not only rave reviews, but full houses, often consisting predominately of women and obviously new to live theatre”.
